Thank you so much for writing and sharing this. My sense as a high school teacher is that the "public" conversation and the "academic" conversation are completely at odds with one another.

I think that professors need to be much more active at sharing their work with a broader audience.

The problem of course is determining how to reach a general audience, especially if the Academy and Medium are skewed so far to the left of the American mainstream.

Tricky, but important work for sure.
