Thank you again for sharing. I think part of the challenge for "white liberals" is having the terms of debate change rapidly. I was taught to say "African American." When as student corrected me to say, "We prefer Black." I changed my language.

Many of us are experiencing the learning curve of different pronouns for family and friends we have known our whole lives.

Somehow we have to learn to hold one another accountable to become actively anti-racist, without asking current victims of oppression to always be on the front lines.

It is a tricky balance, but at last there is far more energy and attention toward positive change.
