I'm curious how you define liberal Christianity. My mom is a retired UCC chaplain and my cousin in an Anglican Priest. My uncle was Presbyterian and studied under Reinhold Niebuhr at Union Theological Seminary. They would probably meet your definition of liberal Christianity. I'm just trying to understand whether you are setting liberal Christianity up as a straw man.
