If you don't mind me asking, which specific beliefs are you talking about? There was a significant amount of wisdom in the founding fathers no doubt, but they did not foresee everything. James Madison even modeled the ideas of leaving behind beliefs that he felt were out dated.

The founding fathers themselves did not agree on the meaning of the Constitution or the nature of the country they had created. It is impossible to solve today's problems while sticking to the beliefs of an agrarian society.

How much of our greatness was related to the ease with which we were able to displace Native Americans from their lands and exploit slave and immigrant labor?
