I would push back on one point. This IS an apocalypse, but not necessarily in the Hollywood meaning. An apocalypse is an uncovering or revealing of something that had been hidden or repressed. That is why the last book of the New Testament is the Revelation of John. It doesn’t predict how the world will end so much as it exposes the corruption and evils of the Roman Imperial system and all Imperial systems.
