I guess we are at an impasse. I believe I do understand your argument, I just happen to disagree with it. My thinking may be clouded because I am a public school teacher whose job could be significantly impacted by a decision to bail out cities and towns. At the same time, it is pretty clear that it is much harder to adapt to COVID-19 in dense urban areas that rely heavily on public transportation. The evidence also suggests that Black, Latino, and Indigenous Communities have been disproportionately impacted by the disease. I would certainly use another stimulus check, I just think that targeted aid which preserves essential jobs is more important.
