I don’t know if you have considered Tolkien’s reflections on the Atlantis myth. He of course was an expert in ancient myths, languages etc. His son Christopher published Tolkien’s stories of Numenor in the Akallabeth in The Silmarillion and the Lost Road.
For Tolkien the world had become bent and it was forbidden to travel to the true West. He also appears to have hotten some of his ideas in “dream visions.” Some contemporary Gnostics have claimed Tolkien as one of their own. Tolkien himself merely professed Catholicism. Nevertheless, he described his life’s work as creating a new “myth” for England.
Your summary of the evidence for Ireland as Atlantis is intriguing. Thank you for writing and publishing.
