Hi Matt, I really liked your article but was concerned about this one caveat. What if society does collapse? What if we have a global pandemic, or political dysfunction, or race riots, or a war, or ….?

More importantly, what if Climate Change is real and not priced into the market?

A simple trick that I learned from my mom is to invest as if the scientists are right and Wall Street and the politicians are wrong. If I am right about that it means investing in socially conscious index funds and in countries and places that believe in science and the future. There is a reason why San Francisco, Boston, Seattle, Austin, and the Research Triangle of North Carolina outperform the rest of the country. The attract and educate the best and the brightest, and the help the launch businesses based on the latest ideas.

(Please note, the above list is not exhaustive or comprehensive. NYC is ignored because I live near Boston. It is a regional blind spot.)
