Before promising to destroy the economy AGAIN please study depression and Keynsian economics. The time to worry about the debt was three years ago when Republicans passed budget busting tax cuts for the super wealthy.

Even Republican rules in the House made it so tax cuts didn’t have to be paid for except with shoddy accounting.

For the last 40 years Republican orthodoxy has been cut taxes on the wealthy, eliminate regulations that preserve clean air and water for poor people and give the military a blank check.

Until the Republican Party repents of building white prosperity on the backs of Black and Brown bodies, no one will listen to you about the debt.

Remember the Powell Doctrine, aka the pottery barn rule?

You break it, you buy it.

For Republican leaders such as yourself to spout faux outrage about debt now is the height of hypocrisy.

We need responsible leadership and economic policy. That starts with a new president. Until the party as a whole changes, they don’t deserve to lead.
