Are you a Democrat, a moderate, or a climate-concerned Republican? Most of the coverage of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” has focused on cuts to Medicaid and SNAP (Food Stamps), the wealth transfer from poorer to wealthier Americans, and the resulting increase in US debt. Everyone is also aware of the tax benefits, especially for rich people, tipped workers, overtime workers, and individuals residing in states with high state and property taxes. However, you may be less aware of the tax benefits that have been cancelled, particularly within Biden’s efforts to combat climate change.
When Trump signed the bill into law, the clock started ticking on many environmental initiatives. For example, incentives for the investment and production of renewable electricity will end in 2027. The electric vehicle tax break will expire on September 30th.
Time is running out to take advantage of these rebates.
There may be a rush to purchase vehicles before the credits go away. Don’t wait. Do not pass go. Visit your nearest dealership and reserve your vehicle. The climate and your pocketbook will thank you. It’s up to you whether to avoid the Tesla dealerships.1
